As the Thoroughbred horse racing industry awaits the announcement of the 2003 Eclipse Awards to honor brilliance in the horse racing industry on January 26th, the USA pigeon sport awaits the announcement of its best in the sport when the “IF, AU and RACING DIGEST” HONOR THE BEST IN THE RACING PIGEON SPORT FOR 2003.
The International Federation of American Homing Pigeon Fanciers, Inc., better known as the “IF”, has announced the 2003 YB. CHAMPION AWARDS, (YOUNG BIRD CHAMPION LOFT and HALL OF FAME YOUNG BIRDS) along with the prestigious OPEN LOFT AWARD 2003. These honors are annually awarded to recognize the excellence and outstanding race results for individual lofts and individual birds’ accomplishments.
Three (3) separate awards:
|"ZACK LOFT” WINS FIRST PLACE IN ALL THREE!|
|1ST||2003 YOUNG BIRD CHAMPION LOFT (BIG CATEGORY*)|
|'IF' HALL OF FAME 151-500 LOFTS (BIG CATEGORY*)|
|1ST||2003 OPEN AWARD 100 LOFTS AND ABOVE (BIG CATEGORY*)|
Note: *BIG CATEGORY IS THE LARGEST IN USA COMPETITION
The OPEN LOFT AWARD 2003 – The Loft must submit 12 separate races to be considered for this award: 3 races at 100 miles, 3 races at 200 miles, 3 races at 300 miles, 2 races at 400 miles and 1 race at 500 miles. You may mix young bird and old bird race results to achieve your best results for the 12 races. This award is considered one of the most prestigious awards given for loft performance, because it is open to all levels of competition and all flyers. It represents the very best race results of old bird and young bird competition for 2003. Zack Loft distinguished itself as the very best in 2003.
The 2003 YOUNG BIRD CHAMPION LOFT – This award is exclusively Average Speed Races from one club or combine per application. For young birds, you must submit your best two (2) 100 mile races, best two (2) 200 mile races and best two (2) 300 mile races: The total of your best six (6) YB. AVERAGE SPEED RACES. After the tabulation of all of the results, ZACK LOFT had an unbelievable score of .9904 to win 1st Place. The 2nd Place loft scored .9604. These incredible and record setting results were achieved in the CENTRAL JERSEY COMBINE (CJC) “LARGEST COMBINE IN USA”, averaging 222 lofts and 2,615 birds per week for its 10 bird race series for 2003.
Along with winning the two (2) prestigious LOFT AWARDS for Big Category, Zack Loft’s results in the 2003 Young Bird Hall of Fame were just as impressive. The Hall of Fame Award is considered to be the highest award an individual bird can achieve. It distinguishes itself as the best in 2003. To qualify for the IF Hall of Fame, a pigeon must win a minimum of three (3) diplomas in three (3) individual or separate races based on the IF rule of one (1) diploma awarded for every 5 lofts in competition. For example, in a race with 100 lofts and 2000 birds, only 20 diplomas are awarded (5 / 100 = 20). The “IF” has the toughest Hall of FAME STANDARD IN THE USA.
Zack Loft qualified and nominated 5 birds for the 2003 IF Hall of Fame. The total birds nominated for the Hall of Fame from all lofts in USA were 13 individual birds, of which the Zack Loft had 5 or 38% of all birds nominated.
Joe and Madelyn Zack won 1st, 2nd & 3rd Hall of Fame in 151-500 LOFT CATEGORY:
|1.||IF-03-CCC-0027 BB HEN||TOTAL 383.36 POINTS|
|2.||IF-03-QCM-2201 BB COCK||TOTAL 315.77 POINTS|
|3.||IF-03-WHC-1960 SPLASH COCK||TOTAL 307.36 POINTS|
The “IF” awards are the first to be announced for 2003 Young Birds. The “RACING PIGEON DIGEST” and the “AMERICAM RACING PIGEON UNION (AU)” will announce other NATIONAL AWARDS later this year. There were few surprises when the “IF AWARDS” were announced, and we expect that Zack Loft will earn even more high honors when the Racing Pigeon Digest and the “AU” awards are announced. These annual awards are a tribute to persistence, hard work and the commitment to strive for excellence, a motto at the Zack Loft. Congratulations Joe and Madelyn!
