Catteralls who have been transporting pigeons for 40 years have announced that they have decided to cease their service to the fancy at the end of 2005.
Christine Gooch, daughter of Chris Catterall (founder) said; "It’s the end of an era that after 40 years I felt it was time to call a halt.".
This decision will cause disruption to a great number of Federations who use the Catteralls service; but Christine has offered organisations the option to make the first offer on transporters and other equipment. This offer stands until the end of October, when they will be sold on a first come first served basis.
