A SALE NOT TO BE MISSED
The club are holding a late bred sale on Sunday 18th of September in Newmains RPC birds on view from 12noon with sale commencing at 1.00 pm. Again the members have supported the club with some fantastic offers to top quality youngsters direct from their 2005 SNFC winners, this includes direct from SNFC winners plus Gold Award winners also section winners as well as multiple diploma winners. This will be the sale of the year in Scotland as you will not obtain any better bred pigeons than these pigeons on offer.

Lot 6 - George Ritchie of Inverallochy has donated a youngster from his Storm Queen winning family you won’t be disappointed with this youngster as it contains all the best of 600/700 mile winning bloodlines.

Lot 7 - Andrew Agnew & Son of Kelso direct from the SIRE of their 1st open SNFC Newbury winner Sapphire he is a blue pied Cattrysse purchased from D Smith of Great Ayton. Therefore the purchaser will have a half brother or sister to Sapphire

Lot 10 - Frank Tarnawski of High Valleyfield direct from 1st open SNFC Alencon winner Marisia Nawski who as a yearling won 1st west section 6th open Maidstone. As a 2 year old she won 40th open Chenoise in 2004 she won 80th open Falaise and this year 2005 pulled of the top prize of winning the GOLD CUP for 1st open SNFC Alencon

Lot 12 - George McLain of Duns direct from 2nd open SNFC Newbury

Lot 13 - John Duthie of Dundee direct from As Good As It Get’s his Gold Award winner who has won the following: In 2002 he won 51st open SNFC Claremont 2003 year old 171st open SNFC Newbury 87th open Claremont. In 2004 96th open Falaise and Falaise 2 he won 169th open this year he has won 18th open Alencon and is now a very worthy winner of the prestigious SNFC Gold Award.

Lot 14 - Tom McEwan of Elphinstone direct from his 1st open SNFC Tours winner Petite Rose as a yearling she won 245th open SNFC Claremont. As a 2 year old she returned from a club race very badly and was never in a basket again that season. Sire of Petite Rose is nicknamed 17 and is a direct son of Tom’s Niort Cock who won 4th open Niort a distance of 673 miles. The Niort cock is a direct son of Marlene’s Boy 1st open SNFC Sartilly for Tom in 1985. Marlene’s Boy dam was a daughter of Tom’s 4th open Rennes hen when paired to Blue Paul who won 1st open SNFC young bird national from Cheltenham in 1970. The dam of 17 is a direct daughter of Tom’s SHU Dewar Trophy winner who won 5th open Beauvais, 21st open Sartilly, 58th open Sartilly and 112th Rennes. Dam of Petite Rose is a direct daughter of Tom’s 1st east section 3rd open Sartilly winner when paired to a stock hen 231 who is a full sister to Shari who won 5th open Portland (year of the foot and mouth) and 74 who won 21st open Reims 2 years ago, again from a proven long line of top class winning SNFC pigeons.
Sire of Lot 11 is a son of Tom’s Dewar Trophy Winner.

Lot 15 - Mick McMurchie of Glenrothes direct from his 6th open SNFC Newbury

Lot 16 - Bill Dorward is also giving a direct youngster from his 1st section C 5th open Tours winner to this sale.

Lot 17 - John & John Hood of Milton of Campsie are giving a bird direct from their 1st west section 15th open Alencon. They are going to pair him to a direct Jock Allan hen

Lot 18 - Willie & Barry Kinnear of Edinburgh have donated a youngster from Auld Reekie for the sale. This is one of the eggs he was racing to when he won 2nd open Falaise Auld Reekie has previously won 11th open SNFC Falaise -1st open SNFC Le Ferte Bernard Gold Cup race in 2004 and won the Dewar Trophy for Scottish Homing Union ‘Bird of the Year’. This year Auld Reekie has won 24th open SNFC Alencon and 2nd open SNFC Falaise. When you consider that in his 5 channel races he has only failed to make the result once and has homed on the day in each race. A top quality pigeons that must rank as one of the best in Europe at the present time how many pigeons have a 1st and 2nd open National in their pedigree.

Lot 19 - Derek & Linda Hay of Kirkintilloch. Sire a grand son of Champion Fiekje. Dam is a grand daughter of Peggy who won 1st west section 5th open Liege when she was paired to a son of Tom McEwan’s Niort cock that won 1st east section 4th open Niort.

Lot 20 - Irvine Buchan of Peterhead. Sire Grizzle cock who has won 11th section Newbury, 20th section 123rd open Newbury 5th section 76th open Falaise 589 miles timed on the day. Dam is red hen a daughter of Mealy Cock who has won 10th section Claremont, 6th section 85th open Falaise 589 miles on the day, 3rd section 93rd open Falaise 2005. The red hen’s dam is known as the ‘double section hen’ as she is a daughter of 1st north section 8th open Hastings when paired to 1st north section 78th open Portland. Distance winning blood at its very best.

Lot 21 - Charlie Brown on Bonnyrigg has donated a youngster direct from his good grizzle cock The Ghost who has won 5 times it the SNFC his positions are as follows; 2002 he won 36th open SNFC Chenoise as a yearling, 2003 he won 184th open Reims as a 3 year old he won 274th open Falaise (2) 2005 he won 110th open Alencon and then 129th open Falaise. All going well he will compete for his Gold Award in the SNFC next year. Sire is a 96 bred chequer pied cock from Jan Aarden bloodlines purchased from Colin Asher of Rosewell. This 96 cock won 6th open Maidstone Midlothian Fed and also 5th section B 16th open SNFC Rennes was then injured and retired to stock. Dam of The Ghost is a grizzle hen purchased from Bertram & MacGregor of Bonnyrigg and she was bred by Donald McFarlane of Pathhead. She is from the same grizzle lines that won the Young bird National from Redditch for Donald in 1983. These birds originate from Mr & Mrs Whitson down from their Gold Award winning grizzle cock of 1980, again from a proven line of SNFC winners.

Lot 22 - Jim Hannah of Blantyre. Sire dark chequer cock bred from Pied Queen crossed with Jim Biss stock cock. Dam of Lot 19 is 724 who won 61st open Messac and 69th open Rennes she is a half sister to Jim’s famous Queen and a double grand daughter of Bonny Lass.

Lot 23 - Jim Sanderson of Pathhead has promised one from his long distance family of pigeons

Lot 24 - Dale Newcombe has donated a youngster direct from Kardale Gold Star who in 2004 he won 38th open Falaise 1 and 83rd open Falaise 2 this year 2005 he won 128th open Alencon and then 144th open Falaise. The sire of Gold Star is a son of Dale’s gold award winner, Kardale Regatta and the dam being from Jim Biss bloodlines.

Lot 25 - George Rankin & son Gareth of Larkhall have promised a youngster direct from their 2nd west section winner Westbound 2 when paired to a half sister to Westbound Kedir who won 28th open Tours in 2005

Lot 26 - Henderson & Winterburn of Langholm have donated a youngster direct from their good hen Miss Pringle who has won in 2004 90th open Newbury, 60th open Le Ferte Bernard and then 22nd open Falaise. 2005 she won 30th open Newbury, 23rd open Alencon (one place ahead of Auld Reekie) then 20th open Falaise. So a six times SNFC winner!

Lot 27 - Karen Newcombe has promised a ‘cracker’ from her family of pigeons that have won over £29.000 these past few years

Lot 28 - Ralston Graham of Langholm is donating a direct youngster from his Gold Award winner of 2005 ‘Eskvalley Jacky’. As a youngster she won 3rd club 37th open Worcester 200 miles then as a yearling she won 32nd open Hastings. As a 3 year old she won 139th open Claremont in 2004 she won 12th open SNFC Le Ferte Bernard she then won 10th open SNFC Falaise winning the Tommy Buck trophy in the SNFC for the best average in the Le Ferte Bernard and Falaise race. 2005 she won 1st section 2nd open Alencon and then 26th open Falaise winning Eskvalley Jacky and Ralston Graham the prestigious SNFC GOLD AWARD in 2005. Sire of Lot 25 is a chequer cock who has topped the federation and been to the channel. This year 2005 he has been kept at home as Jacky was racing to him on roundabout, he is from Van Elsacker bloodlines.

Lot 29 - Ritchie and Whyte of Fraserburgh who have kindly donated a pair of youngsters from their proven long distance family. Sire is High Hopes who has won 3rd & 6th north section. Dam is Margaret who won 1st north section 5th open Lille.

Lot 30 - Ritchie and Whyte of Fraserburgh. Sire inbred 1995 cock to Storm Queen 2nd open Nantes. Dam bred by Willie Ross of Aberdeen from second highest pigeon purchased at the late Jock Traill’s entire clearance sale, the best of 600 mile blood.

Lot 31 - Jim Cullen of Uddingston direct from 1st west section 2nd open Tours 2005. His sire scored from Reims in 2003 and his grand sire was 2nd west section 14th open Nantes in 2000 and his great grand dam was 5th west section 26th open Nantes 1998. The dam of the youngster was timed in from Clermont in 2004 as a yearling and it also flew Tours this year. Her dam won 2nd west section 9th open Chenoise in 2003.

Lot 32 - John Bosworth of Elphinstone has promised one direct from his mealy hen that won 9th open Tours

Lot 33 - J Newbiggin of Larkhall direct from his 1st west section 39th open Newbury winner

Lot 34 - R J Rome of Annan direct from Motivator who won 1st south section 21st open Newbury dam will be a well bred pigeon from the Rome loft.

Lot 35 - Dave Pirie of Aberdeen from Robert Venus ‘Supercrack’ crossed with Jim Biss long distance bloodlines.

Lot 36 - Jim & Gary Peggie of Methil a youngster from their pied hen who has won 4th section C 18th open SNFC Falaise, this year 2005 she won 202nd open Newbury, 183rd open Alencon and then won 49th open SNFC Falaise

Lot 37 - Billy Jamieson of Annan direct from his 1st south section 12th open Tours winner

Lot 38 - Norrie Cochrane of Elphinstone direct from his 3rd open Alencon winner

Lot 39 - Jim Donaldson of Peterhead direct from his long distance family of birds. Sire Young Mike who has won 2nd north section 7th open Claremont and 1st north section 4th open Tours 2005. Dam is a sister to Donnan 1st open SNFC Sartilly.

Lot 40 - John Hodgson of Annan 5 times SNFC Winner has promised a 2006 youngster from the very best in his loft.

Lot 41 - Tom & Mary Paterson of Plean have donated a youngster whose sire was bred by Richard Combe from a son of Midnight Son SNFC Gold Award Winner when paired to ‘35’ that has won 2nd, 10th, and 31st open from 600 miles. Dam of Lot 35 was bred by Dennis Dall and is a daughter of Rebecca 2 SNFC Gold Award winner when paired to a son of Traill’s Spark 1st open SNFC Niort.

Lot 42 - Scott Gibson of Avonbridge has promised a youngster direct from his 1st open SNFC Falaise winner Honey Potter. As many of you will have read in my reports Scott killed one of the youngsters in the nest due to his SNFC Falaise winner cock breaking his wing. As Scott has no stock pigeons he is going to keep this only youngster from Honey Potter for himself. Therefore he has kindly offered a first round youngster from Honey Potter next year with the purchaser having the pick of the nest. Scott cannot be fairer than this and I admire him for his honesty.

Lot 43 - Alex McInnes of Blantyre has promised a pigeon for the sale.

Lot 44 - Dr Phil Lynch of Larbert had kindly donated a late bred from his good hen the ‘Vixen’. Dam ‘Vixen’ who has now won 4 times in the SNFC her performances are as follows: 150th open Sartilly, 85th open SNFC Claremont, 1st section D 3rd open Tours and this year she has won 191st open SNFC Falaise. Sire is a half brother to the Vixen so an inbred late bred of the highest order.

Lot 45 - E & R Jamieson & Hardie of Galashiels have donated a youngster from their very best winning bloodlines.
