On Sunday the 26th of June 2005 the SNRPC liberated 762 pigeons entered by 186 members at 13:35 hours. They were liberated after a 2day hold over and would encounter a brisk north east wind crossing the channel and a light northeast wind on the English coast, as they progress to home the wind would change and become westerly, there would be no rain.
It was hoped that the birds would make the midlands by night fall and that pigeons could be expected on Monday morning around 10am. This asumption proved to be right with Norman Renton of Foulden timing at 1037 followed by R&M Seaton Annan 1047.
From then birds were being reported all day and late into the evening. A provisional result has been completed and the provisional winners are Walker & Wilson of St Abbs who will aslo be 3rd open this result on top of winning 1st open in the Newbury open two weeks ago and 1st open in the young bird national 2004 is simply quite remarkable, reports to follow. Second open is Norman Renton, the velcities are very close. Congratulations to Bob Walker and Jim Wilson and to Norman a further report will be forthcomming in a day or so.
