The much awaited 2005 competition The Race, from Pigeonbasics.com has been launched this week. There are details of 24 pigeons, 6 of which competitors choose to be their syndicate. The birds compete the in the Up North Combine young bird programme and their loft performances against each other will be rated. The syndicate with the highest rating, after the close of the season will win.
Last year was a huge success using old birds, and their races; however it’s a different kettle of fish with untested youngsters. The syndicate ‘Bapman’ won in 2004 with a rating of 90.2%, however there is a slightly different system of scoring this year, a cumulative points score. The first bird home will win 10pts – 10th 1pt, all birds will have the same amount of races, weather and bird permitting.
With entries closing 29th July 2005 you only have 6 weeks to get your entry in! Amendments will also be taken to syndicates before that date. Training losses will be convened via the Pigeonbasics.com Newsletter or the Message Forum.
