The Up North Combine headquarters at Sappers Corner, Greatham, Hartlepool; was one of the worst hit, with the east facing wall being reduced to rubble. It is reported that the wind got in at the west facing roller shutter door, ripping through taking down the opposite wall. Thankfully no one was hurt in the incident. However a number of transporters are said to have suffered minor damage.

"Up-North Combine of Racing Pigeons, which is based at Sappers Corner, on the A689, on the outskirts of Greatham, Hartlepool, suffered thousands of pounds damage after 90mph winds blew off part of the roof and demolished a 40ft by 70ft wall.
Manager Pam Grange, 44, said: "I was devastated when I saw the damage and I went into shock.
"Thankfully, no-one was hurt, the building can be repaired, people can't."
Up-North Combine transports racing pigeons to competitions all over the north, from Berwick on the borders, to Staithes in East Cleveland.
More than 6,000 pigeon-fanciers use the business and Pam added: "It's a good job this happened when the racing season is over, otherwise the effects would have been huge."
The incident happened at around 7.30am on Saturday and insurers were due at the site today to assess the damage."
Reports are that there are £1000's of pounds of damage to lofts across the north east some being demolished completely. One fancier said, "I've lost the roof off my stock loft, thank god that I hadn't paired up yet.".
